A Look At Our Ingredients

Posted on

At Sattva Pure we strive to create products that work without compromising our ethics. We use a variety of plant based ingredients, like clay, flowers, oils, and fruit extracts.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a well known skincare ingredient, and for good reason. It does most of it’s work by moisturizing the skin and improving the skin’s ability to form a protective barrier.

Aloe vera makes a great moisturizer for oily or combination skin types as it moisturizes without feeling heavy or greasy. The moisturizing properties give aloe vera the power to improve your skin’s recovery after a sunburn and improve the look of wrinkles and stretch marks.

You can find aloe vera in almost all of our products, from our Daily Renewal Foaming Cleanser to our Hand & Body Wash.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is one of my favourite skincare ingredients. It works by helping your skin absorb water molecules, which allows your skin to stay more hydrated and plump. It reduces dehydration and dryness, helps to balance your skin, and it even improves the look of wrinkles.

We use natural hyaluronic acid in our toners, moisturizers, and of course in our Pure Glow Hydrating Masque.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is a rich, nourishing butter that’s sourced from the African Shea Tree. Shea butter is moisturizing and anti-inflammatory. I use raw shea butter all over to hydrate and soothe my sensitive skin.

While it has a rich texture that could scare people with acne prone skin, it has a comedogenic rating of 0, which means it won’t clog your pores and is safe to use on your skin.

You can find shea butter in our Hand & Body Lotions, Sea Salt & Sugar Scrubs, and our Pure Calm Nourishing Face Cream.

Willow Bark

Known for it’s natural anti-inflammatory benefits, willow bark is often used in natural products designed for acne prone skin. It’s also commonly used as a natural way to reduce headaches.

What gives it it’s anti-inflammatory properties is the chemical salicin, along with other plant chemicals called polyphenols and flavonoids, which have antioxidant, fever-reducing, and antiseptic properties.

We use it in our Herbal Clay Purifying Masque to soothe inflammation while clarifying the skin. You can also find it in our Nourish & Protect Cream Cleanser.

Castor Seed Oil

A few years ago I used castor seed oil regularly to draw out impurities (mostly blackheads) so my skin could heal.

Castor oil can do more than draw out impurities. It’s great for reducing the signs of aging, inflammation, and acne. It’s moisturizing, and it’s great for healing and even fading acne and acne scars. What’s not to love?

We use castor oil in both of our cleansers.
